Saving lives “from the debris pile up.”
When we develop products, we do it from the ground up. Or, in this case, “from the debris pile up.” Our mission is to save lives, not just develop and sell products. We’ve interviewed hundreds involved in avalanche accidents. We regularly interact with thousands of avalanche safety educators, snow safety professionals and avid powder junkies. We are constantly asking the question: “What can we do to save more lives?” This aggressive industry interaction and 22 years of snow-safety DNA gives us the perspective to develop programs and products that we think will make a difference.
Sometimes this means developing revolutionary technology, like our Tracker–the world’s first digital avalanche transceiver. Sometimes it means taking an existing technology and making it more accessible by making it lighter, more affordable, or easier to use–like our Float airbags and BC Link radios. Or it can mean developing better techniques, like “strategic shoveling.” Most importantly, it means working with others in our industry to support and promote avalanche education. Our goal is only to save lives: we’ll do whatever it takes–whether that means new technology, new techniques, or just working hard to get people stoked on education.
