The history of Fjällräven already began in 1950, when the 14-year-old boy Åke Nordin from Ornsköldsvik in northern Sweden went on a hike in the mountains. His dissatisfaction with the available backpacks resulted in the construction of a wooden frame for better load distribution on the back of the wearer.
